Dr. John F. Feller
Board Certified Diagnostic Radiologist
Orthopedic/Sports Medicine and Body MRI, and Level II Cardiac CT
Dr. Feller is a Board Certified Diagnostic Radiologist with a subspecialty in Orthopedic/Sports Medicine Imaging, Body MRI, and Level II Cardiac CT Certification.
He received an undergraduate degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Notre Dame, graduating Cum Laude; then received his medical degree at The Ohio State University School of Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Feller completed his internship, residency and fellowship training at Stanford University School of Medicine culminating in board certification in Diagnostic Radiology in 1991.
Following training, Dr. Feller served as an U.S. Air Force officer and Chief of MRI at David Grant USAF Medical Center; a position he maintained for four years. Dr. Feller continued an academic affiliation with Stanford University for 15 years as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Radiology. He was awarded the Volunteer Clinical Faculty Teacher of the Year in 1992-1993 in the Department of Radiology at Stanford University. Currently he is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Radiology at Loma Linda University.
In 1998 Dr. Feller became a Founding Partner of Desert Medical Imaging, and is currently Medical Director and Owner of Desert Medical Imaging. In 2007 Dr Feller became a Partner in Advanced China Healthcare, which is the first American owned multi-disciplinary outpatient healthcare facility in China, and currently serves as Director of Radiology. Dr. Feller has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and is an editor of the textbook Shoulder Magnetic Resonance Imaging. He has given over 300 invited lectures worldwide on orthopedic, prostate cancer and body MR imaging.
Dr. Feller has partnered with various medical imaging companies around the world to develop new hardware and software for advanced imaging applications. These partnerships ensure that DMI has the most up to date radiology imaging technology. Most recently, Dr. Feller has worked to develop an MRI based prostate cancer detection program including MR guided focal laser ablation for prostate cancer. Desert Medical Imaging was the first in the world to perform this outpatient focal therapy procedure for prostate cancer.
